sign up for workshop
February 29, 2012
Our speaker for February 28 is Nancy Swanwick who will present a trunk show of her quilts and then will hold a workshop, "Random Access Stars," on Wednesday, February 29 from 10 to 4 at Harper's in Downtown Overland Park. Three versions of the quilt will be displayed at the January meeting and sign-up sheets will be available. The price for the workshop is $25 if you sign up and pay at the January meeting. After that, the quilts will be at Harper's and the workshop will be offered for $35. The pattern and supply list will be given to you upon payment.
The workshop is recommended for confident beginners who are comfortable with their rotary cutting and sewing skills It's very strongly recommended that all your blocks are cut before you come to the workshop. In fact, if we could come to your houses and make you do so, we would!
After you hear Nancy speak and see her quilts, we think you'll want to take her workshop, so come with cash or your checkbook to the January meeting.

If you have never been to a workshop, you are missing a lot of fun. It's great to learn new skills, renew old ones, and we can always use a new UFO. Actually, you can just make a small sample of the workshop project and if you decide it is not your thing, make it into a pillow or pot holder, or maybe something for the back of another quilt, or a Linus quilt. Check out the workshops coming up and see if there is something you'd like to try.

taught by LueAnne Christensen
Rosewood Place Apartments – 85th and Pflumm
Cost: $5.00
A “taggie blanket” is a small (12 inch square or larger) soft blanket for babies and toddlers . It’s made from soft cotton, flannel, or microfleece. Ribbon loops are sewn in on all four sides, like tags. They are based on the idea that babies like to rub satin edges, clothing labels, and tags on their security blanket.
If you missed the June 11. 2011, workshop but want to make the Ditty bag, Click here for ditty bag pattern.
